Ophthalmic Guidance for Veterinary Professionals

E-Consults allow veterinarians to obtain ophthalmic recommendations from our doctors for cases that may not require immediate referral. Recommendations are based on the history, examination findings, diagnostics, photographs, and specific clinical questions you provide.

If your patient requires an ophthalmic examination or surgical consultation, please submit a Patient Referral instead.

Before You Submit

To help us provide the most meaningful recommendations, please include:

  • Complete patient signalment and history

  • Presenting complaint

  • Duration of clinical signs

  • Current ophthalmic and systemic medications

  • Previous treatments and response

  • Complete physical examination findings

  • Ophthalmic examination findings

  • High-quality photographs, when available

  • Specific clinical questions you would like addressed

What To Expect

Once your E-Consult has been submitted, it will be reviewed by one of our doctors during regular business hours.

Recommendations are typically provided within 2–3 business days. Our office is open Monday - Thursday.

If additional information, diagnostics, or photographs are needed to adequately address your questions, we will contact you before completing the consultation.

E-Consult recommendations are provided exclusively to the referring veterinarian to support clinical decision-making and should not be shared directly with clients as a substitute for a veterinary examination or consultation. Submission of an E-Consult does not establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) between Veterinary Vision and the client or patient. Recommendations are intended to assist the referring veterinarian, who remains responsible for patient care and communication with the client.
