Fluoroscein and Rose Bengal StainingThis test is used to determine if there is any erosions of the cornea (ie. scratch, ulcer, or laceration). It involves placing stain onto the eye and flushing out all of the excess. The stain adheres to areas where the outer layer of the cornea is missing. Any remaining stain shows as fluorescent green and allows us to better visualize the size, depth and type of ulcer.
